Oreo Balls (also called Oreo Truffles) are an easy, decadent no-bake treat that only requires three ingredients!
I’m not really a big fan of store-bought cookies, only because homemade is usually so much better!
But Oreos are definitely an exception.
There’s just something about a handful of Oreo cookies and a glass of milk. It’s perfection.
If you like Oreos, you’re going to love Oreo Balls! They’re rich little cookies and cream flavored truffles with a gooey, decadent center and a chocolate coating.
Oreo Truffles are easy to make, which means they’re a fun project to do with kids, and they’re perfect for bringing to a holiday party. Or for whipping up to satisfy your deepest, darkest chocolate cravings!

How to Make Oreo Balls aka Oreo Truffles
- Add the Oreos to a food processor and pulse until they’re crushed.
- Add the cream cheese to the crushed Oreos.
- Process until the mixture is smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl if necessary. Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Lay a piece of plastic wrap directly on top. Chill until the mixture is easy to scoop, about 15 minutes in the freezer or 1 hour in the fridge.
- Scoop the mixture into 1-tablespoon sized balls.
- Pop the Oreo Balls in the freezer to chill for about 10 minutes while you melt the candy melts.
- Melt the chocolate candy melts in a double boiler or in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave.
- Dip each Oreo ball in the melted candy to coat. Place the truffles on a wax paper-lined tray.
- Drizzle a little more of the melted candy decoratively on top. Top with sprinkles before the candy sets. Let the candy coating set before serving.
How to Store Oreo Truffles
Store Oreo Truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Variations on Oreo Balls
- You’re not stuck with classic Oreos when you make Oreo Truffles! Use Mint Oreos, Birthday Cake Oreos, Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreos, Carrot Cake Oreos or whatever flavor strikes your fancy.
- Flavor Oreo Balls with an extract. If you want to create a different flavor, but you only have the classic Oreos, add up to 1/2 teaspoon of your favorite extract, such as hazelnut, butterscotch, rum, etc.
- Change up the candy melts. Create your perfect flavor and color combination by using whatever flavor/color candy melts you like.
- Give them seasonal flair. Swap out the sprinkle colors for any occasion!
Tips for Making This Oreo Truffles Recipe
- Use the Oreos with the regular amount of filling. Don’t go for the Double Stuf, Mega Stuf, or Thins. We need the regular amount of filling to add the right amount of moisture to bind our Oreo Truffles.
- Don’t rush the chill time. There are actually two chill times, one before you scoop the mixture and one before you dip the balls. Both are necessary and will help make sure your Oreo Truffles turn out perfect!
- If you forget to add the sprinkles before the candy melt coating sets, no worries! Just add a drizzle more of the melted candy melts and then add the sprinkles.
